CITY SECRETARY
Description
The Village of Salado is currently seeking a City Secretary. Under supervision of the Village Administrator, duties of the City Secretary include, but are not limited to: post official agendas and notifications, attend and prepare minutes of all meetings of the Board of Aldermen and various Village Boards, perform the duties of the general election officer for the Village; manage a records retention program; manage municipal court; perform a variety of secretarial and clerical office work and perform related work as required by the Village Administrator.
The right candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of municipal codes, resolutions, ordinances, and applicable State Laws. Applicant must be able to work calmly in a fast-paced environment and must be able to stay for nightly meetings, as needed. Organizational skills are a must.

Requirements
Candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational, managerial, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications. In addition, candidates should be able to work well with the public, with employees, vendors, contractors, and with county and state agencies.
Education and Experience
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years experience as a municipal clerk required
- Certified Municipal Clerk preferred
Special Qualifications
- Municipal Clerk Certification by the Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program (within four (4) years of employment)
- Must be bondable
- Notary Public Certification
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License
Salary based on qualification for the position.
Preference will be given to internal candidates.
