Proposed Fiscal Year 2020 Budget public hearing, 6:30 p.m. September 5, 2019
The Village of Salado will hold a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2020 Budget at 6:30 p.m. September 5, 2019, at Salado Municipal Building, 301 N. Stagecoach, Salado, TX 76571. The proposed Fiscal Year 2020 Budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $33,183.93 or 2.9% and of that amount $18,183.93 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.
A tax rate of $0.6135 per $100 valuation has been proposed to help fund the proposed budget. This rate exceeds the lower of the effective or rollback rate, and state law requires that two public hearings be held by the governing body before adopting the proposed tax rate. Public hearings on the tax rate will be held on September 5, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. and on September 12, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. Both tax hearings will be held at the Salado Municipal Building.
The public is urged to attend and express their views at the public hearings on the proposed budget and tax rate. The public is also encouraged to review Tax Rate Notice, Budget Hearing Notice and the Village’s proposed FY 2020 Operating Budget links at the bottom of this page.
