ABOUT THE BUILDING CODE

The Building Code Ordinance aims to promote the Village's public health, safety, morals, and general welfare by regulating certain construction activities. The building code is a set of rules that specify the standards for buildings and non-building structures. The Ordinance authorizes and directs the Village to enforce the provisions of the residential building, commercial building, national and international electrical, international plumbing, international mechanical, international energy conservation, and various other construction codes and subcodes adopted by the Village.
