Municipal Election Information

The Village of Salado holds annual general elections on the May uniform election date, the first Saturday in May. The Board of Aldermen is elected for 2-year staggered terms.

Local Government Code (Type A City) Requirements and Qualifications to Serve on the Board of Aldermen 

Mayor

  • Residence, 1 year in Texas prior to the filing deadline
  • Residence, 1 year in Salado prior to election day
  • Age, 18 years or older
  • Registered Voter, must be a registered voter in territory elected from by the filing deadline

Alderman

  • Residence, 1 year in Texas prior to the filing deadline
  • Residence, 6 months in Salado prior to filing deadline
  • Age, 18 years or older
  • Registered Voter, must be a registered voter in territory elected from by the filing deadline
